Bold is the one with numbers
Most of the styles in this Unicode block are letters only. Bold is different. It carries a full set of digits, because a bold number means something specific in mathematics, and they sit at U+1D7CE onwards while the bold capitals start back at U+1D400.
That makes it the practical choice for the things people actually want emphasised in a bio or a listing. Prices, dates, times, a phone number. Cursive and gothic would leave every one of those flat.
Double-struck and monospace carry digits as well, if you want something less shouty.
Where you should not use it
Anywhere with a real bold. Discord, Reddit, WhatsApp and anything Markdown-shaped will make **this** bold properly, and properly means a screen reader still hears the word.
These characters are mathematical variables. Software that reads text aloud announces them as such, and search doesn't fold them back to letters, so a shop name written this way is a shop name nobody can find.
The honest use is the box with no formatting in it and no search depending on it.
Why a bold A is its own character
In print, bold is a second cut of a typeface and the letter underneath is the same letter. In mathematics it isn't. A bold 𝐯 is a vector where a plain v is a scalar, and the two can sit in one equation meaning different things.
Unicode had to let plain text carry that distinction, so it encoded each variant separately in 2001. Everything on this page is a side effect of that decision, and none of it was aimed at anyone's bio.

Italic is the same block, one style along. Cursive and gothic are the decorative ends of it, both without digits.

Why does bold text work in my Instagram bio when there's no bold button?
Because it isn't formatting. Each bold letter is its own character that Instagram stores like any other, so there's nothing for it to strip.
Does bold text include numbers?
Yes, all ten of them. Double-struck and monospace carry digits too, while cursive, gothic and italic have none at all.
Should I use this on Discord?
No. Discord has real bold with double asterisks, and that version reads correctly to a screen reader. Keep this for places with no formatting at all.
Will search find my bold text?
No, and that matters. Nothing folds these characters back to ordinary letters, so a name written in them matches nothing anyone types.
