Embed a converter

Open the converter you want, set it up the way your readers should find it, and press Embed under the tool. You get a few lines of HTML with an iframe and a credit line. Paste them into your page wherever HTML goes: a custom HTML block in WordPress, an embed block in Squarespace, or straight into the file.

The frame starts on the pair and settings you chose. A Caesar cipher set to shift 7 stays at 7 for your readers, and they can still change it.

Eight converters can be embedded so far. They're listed at the bottom of this page.

The same converter as the one on this site, with its name at the top and the StringMash mark in the corner. The frame carries no ads and no analytics.

It converts in your reader's browser, like every tool here. Nothing they type is sent to us or to you, and nothing is stored. Our server sees the request for the frame itself, which is one line in its access log with the page that asked for it, the same as any file a browser fetches. The privacy page says what that log holds.

The code sets a height that shows the whole tool at its starting size. If a reader pastes a lot of text, the frame scrolls.

Tick the resize box in the Embed dialog and the code gets one more line, a small script from stringmash.com that grows and shrinks the frame to fit the tool. It only listens for a height from our frames and changes nothing else on your page. Some site builders strip script tags. The frame still works without it.

Leave the allow and sandbox attributes on the iframe as they are. Allow lets the Copy button reach the clipboard. Sandbox lets the tool run, copy, download and open our page in a new tab, and stops the frame from ever changing your page.

Under the frame there's a line naming the tool, with a link to its page here. It's optional. You can reword it, restyle it or take it out, and the converter works the same.

We'd be grateful if you kept it. It's how people find the tool again, and how a free site with no accounts gets found at all.

Embedding is free for any site, commercial or not. We'll keep improving the converters, so the frame may change a little over time, but the address stays the same.

Please embed the frame from /embed rather than framing a full page of this site. The full pages won't load inside another site's frame.
