Gothic, blackletter, Old English, Fraktur
Four names for roughly one thing, and none of them means what a newcomer expects. The letters aren't Old English the language, which was written in an alphabet closer to runes. "Old English" is a typeface name, and it stuck because that's what the metal type was sold as.
Unicode calls the block Fraktur, after the German blackletter type that carried most of the printing in German-speaking Europe for four centuries. Fraktur means broken, for the way the curves snap into angles.
Underneath, it's the same mathematical block as cursive. Mathematicians use 𝔤 for a Lie algebra and ℜ for the real part of a complex number, and those two letters are what you're pasting into a band name.
Abolished by decree in 1941
Blackletter was standard in Germany while the rest of Europe moved to roman type, and it got tangled up in arguments about national identity for most of the 19th century. The Nazi party used it heavily in its early years.
Then on 3 January 1941 Martin Bormann circulated a decree ending it. Fraktur was declared to be "Schwabacher Jewish letters", printing was ordered switched to Antiqua, and schools were told to stop teaching the script. The stated reason was a fabrication with no historical basis. The likely practical one was that occupied Europe couldn't read the stuff.
German printing never really went back. That's why blackletter reads as historical rather than ordinary today, even in Germany.
Five letters that come from elsewhere
ℭ, ℌ, ℑ, ℜ and ℨ are missing from the gothic run, because Unicode had already published them in an older block and never encodes a character twice. The tool substitutes them, so a word with an H in it doesn't arrive with a hole in the middle.
There are no gothic digits at all, so numbers stay as they are.

Questions
Is gothic font the same as Old English?
As a typeface, near enough. Both name the blackletter style. Old English the language is a different matter entirely, and was not written in these letters.
Can I use this for a tattoo design?
As a mockup, yes, and it pastes into anything. For the real thing a tattooist works from lettering art rather than a pasted character, and the shapes here are whatever font your screen happens to use.
Why is one of my letters a different shape?
Five gothic capitals live in an older Unicode block and look slightly different from the rest, because they were drawn years earlier for mathematics. There is no other version of them to use.
Does it work in a username?
In bios and posts, usually. Username fields often reject anything outside plain letters, and display names are sometimes normalised back to ASCII.
