Using it
Type your letters, up to 15, and every word they make appears, grouped by length with the longest first. Use ? for a blank tile, up to two. Shortest word sets the smallest length listed.
Each letter can be used only as many times as you typed it, so with one E you won't see words that need two.
How it works
Each word in the list is checked against your letters: count the letters the word needs, and check your letters cover them, spending a blank on any that are missing. Checking all 172,000 words takes a fraction of a second, so the list is complete rather than a sample.
The sample, RETAINS, makes a classic Scrabble "stem": several seven-letter words use all seven letters.
The word list
The word list is ENABLE, a public-domain list of about 172,000 English words that many word games are built on. Offensive words, and their plurals and simple endings, are taken out using the LDNOOBW list. It downloads once, about 370 KB, the first time you type, and what you type stays on your device.
Questions
Are these words allowed in Scrabble?
Most are. ENABLE is close to the lists word games use, but it isn't an official tournament list, so check a disputed word against the one your game uses.
Why are some common words missing?
Proper nouns, abbreviations and words with capitals or hyphens aren't in the list, and offensive words were taken out.
