Making a sheet

Choose 2 to 5 digits. Every question is checked to need at least one borrow, so none of them can be done column by column without regrouping, and every answer is positive. Questions are set out in columns, the way they're worked on paper.

Practise on screen

Type the answer and press Check.

Showing the borrowing

When a pupil is stuck, the subtraction with regrouping page draws the working for any sum: the digits crossed out, the borrowed ten, and each column's subtraction, including borrowing across zeros.

Questions

Can I print the same sheet again?

Yes. Each sheet has a number, printed at the bottom. Set the same number and settings and you get the same questions, so a class can redo a sheet or a colleague can print yours.

Is there an answer key?

Yes, on a second page, unless you untick it. Print only the first page for the class and keep the key.

Are these free to copy for my class?

Yes. Print and copy them for your class, your club or your own children as often as you like.
