Making a sheet
Choose the operation, or a mix of all four, and the largest denominator, from 5 to 12. About four in ten adding and subtracting questions share a denominator, and the rest need a common one. Subtraction questions always come out positive.
Practise on screen
Type a fraction like 3/4, or a mixed number like 1 3/4.

The answer key
Answers are in lowest terms, and written as mixed numbers when they're more than 1: 7/4 is given as 1 3/4. Pupils who leave an answer as 6/8 have the right value but haven't simplified it, which is worth marking separately. The fraction calculator shows the working for any question, with fraction bars.
Questions
Can I print the same sheet again?
Yes. Each sheet has a number, printed at the bottom. Set the same number and settings and you get the same questions, so a class can redo a sheet or a colleague can print yours.
Is there an answer key?
Yes, on a second page, unless you untick it. Print only the first page for the class and keep the key.
Are these free to copy for my class?
Yes. Print and copy them for your class, your club or your own children as often as you like.
