How the cards work
Each card undoes a times table fact. The 7 table gives 7 ÷ 7, 14 ÷ 7 and so on up to 84 ÷ 7. Tick Both divisions to get 21 ÷ 3 as well as 21 ÷ 7, since 3 × 7 makes both.
Press the card or Space to turn it, then choose Knew it or Still learning. A missed card comes back three cards later, and the ones that took more than one go are listed when the deck is done. Type the answer marks what you type instead.
Your place in each deck stays in this browser and nowhere else.
Printing double-sided
Fronts and backs come on alternate sheets. Print both sides, flipping on the long edge, at 100%. The backs are placed mirror-wise, left to right, so each answer lands behind its question. If your printer can't do both sides, the Fold layout puts each card's two sides next to each other to cut out and fold.
Division facts and the tables
Division facts are learnt alongside the tables. The US Common Core puts them together in grade 3, as multiplying and dividing within 100 using the link between the two (3.OA.C.7). England's national curriculum expects the multiplication and division facts up to 12 × 12 by the end of Year 4.
A child who's stuck on 56 ÷ 8 can ask which number times 8 makes 56. The multiplication flash cards and these work well as a pair, a table at a time.
Questions
Are there remainders?
No. Every card divides exactly, because each one comes from a times table fact.
Why is there no dividing by zero?
Dividing by zero has no answer, so there's no zero card. The tables start at 1.
Is my progress saved?
In this browser, if it allows storage. Nothing is sent to us.
